Our unit on Tardigrades started by a visit to our local
Museum of Science. I decided to enroll as an annual member as they offer a variety of activities for Homeschooling kids.
All exhibits fascinated us. One of them, however, caught our eye the most, as we were able to read and see up close the gigantic Tardigrades hanging from the ceiling.
Immediately we thought:
"What a weird looking animal".
And So.......
We decided to research about it even further and create our next
Homeschooling Unit around.......
Tardigrades, Water Bears or Moss Piglet.
whichever way you want to call it.
Our lesson book will resume information about
Diet
Habitat
Mating
Physical Characteristics
Resilience
Facts
Activities in the Reader
Along with these different topics yours learners will label the body parts of the Tardigrade and complete a fact sheet.
Our Lap Book
Following the reading, a lap book will be put together to summarize all the information learned.
An answer key is not provided for the lap book, as learners will have to read and through comprehension, find the answers in the text that corresponds to each mini book.
