As part of our Civil War studies, we traveled to Charleston, South Carolina.
A charming spot to see up close historical homes and visit Fort Sumter.
There, the first shots of the Civil War were heard at 4:30 AM on April 12.
A ferry will take you in a half hour ride to the Fort where you will be able
to visit the Museum and see the Fort up close.
As part of our Junior Ranger program we earned a badge.

Civil War walls.
This black building behind us holds civil war artifacts and a museum with the
history.
More Photos of the Fort
Unfortunately the tour to the Fort was too short.
However, we had lots of fun.
